If you know me, then you know that the first Saturday in May is one of my favorite days of the year. It’s Kentucky Derby time!
Unfortunately, this year will be slightly different. Due to COVID-19, the annual “Run for the Roses” has been rescheduled for Saturday, September 5. It’s the first time the race will not be held on the first weekend of May since 1945 when it was ran on Saturday, June 9 due to World War II.
However, there is still a way to enjoy the festivities this Saturday while also benefiting a great cause! And I invite all of you to check it out.
Churchill Downs will be hosting a virtual race between the 13 Triple Crown winners! This will be an exciting event that will be broadcast across all its social media channels as well as on NBC.
Choose your horse to Win and enter here.
There will also be tours of the track and other exciting events taking place which you can access at the virtual party.
So please join me and enjoy the day in a safe way from your home. And don’t forget to enjoy a mint julep!
For the record, my superfecta is: War Admiral, Citation, Secretariat, Justify.
Stand Strong!
fun post! needed something fun to read about! thank you Scott
I’m pulling for good old Secretariat. My Dad had a framed 1973 Time magazine hanging in his office with a front page picture of this beloved horse. He and I even visited the Kentucky horse farm where he was buried.
Stand Strong, my friend.
Scott, in my book You are the Triple Crown winner!!! Great to hear you and thanks for the virtual race alert and advice. Lovingkindness, peace, Bobby
