Hey there. Remember me?
This might be the longest I’ve ever taken between posting blogs. You haven’t heard from me because I’ve been busy working on a book. I’ve made some great progress, see an end in sight, and am in the early stages of finding a publisher. I still find myself on the fence when it comes to using a publisher versus self-publishing. If anyone has any experience with either, I’d love to hear your thoughts.
I celebrated another birthday in early March. Typically, I don’t put much stock in birthdays, however, since this last one I have found myself thinking more and more about the future and what it holds in store for me (although, I might need to reframe how I think about the future after listening to the podcast below).
Turning 42
When I’m not busy writing, I’m usually spending time with my niece, Perry. I can’t get enough of her! I relish every moment I spend with her and am constantly amazed at the way a child discovers new things. She’s also taught me all the words to the Daniel Tiger theme song.
And I’m extremely excited to report that I’ll be the uncle to another nephew in late October! Congratulations, AJ, Lindsey, Logan and Perry!
Finally, Charles Schwab produces a podcast called, Choiceology, which I was recently a guest on. The episode focused on Affective Forecasting, the prediction of one’s affect (emotional state) in the future. The conversation centers around how our predictions about a major event will affect us 10 years down the road – and how we are usually wrong.
I’d encourage you to listen to it (and not just because I’m in it). I found it highly interesting and educational. Click here to listen or on the image below.
Stay tuned for more updates on my book.
Oh, and you can also read an article LEAP ran about me by clicking here.
Thanks for the continued prayers and support. Much appreciated!
