Last Wednesday, Lindsey and AJ welcomed Miller Anthony Vonderembse into this world – all 6 lbs., 7 oz. of him! Perry and Logan have a little brother, my parents have another grandchild, and I have a nephew. We are all thrilled with his arrival and thankful that everyone is doing well!

The same thoughts I had for Perry bear worth repeating for Miller:

Welcome to the world. It’s a great big place that gets smaller every day, and its unpredictability should be expected. Choose to live how you want but accept that things will be out of your control. Go at life with reckless abandon and give it everything you’ve got, making sure you proceed with caution. And always strive to do the right thing, but never be afraid to make mistakes.

Also, last week my father was finally moved from the ICU after 48 days and to a step-down unit. All signs look like he will be sent to a rehab facility for therapy within the next week. We are extremely grateful for the amazing progress he made after things looked so bleak. Again, we are very grateful for all the support and prayers received and humbled by the healing power of prayer.

Unfortunately, I’m still spending most of my time on bed rest recovering from surgery to deal with a nasty pressure sore. However, was able to speak to the Elyria Catholic high school students a week ago as part of their sophomore retreat program. It was a great way to spend part of the day.

Stand Strong!

Scott

Congratulations on your newest little buddy. The kids are adorable! Glad to hear your Dad is on a step down after 48 days, long time. So many issues with SCI and pressure sores are such a concern. I pray that better days are ahead

I wish my Uncle had explained life and the lack of predictability! That was a rough realization! Imagine if I knew that at 3 instead of 35 years! ha! Let me know when we can reschedule!
