LEAP, whose board I serve on, is a nonprofit dedicated to helping individuals with disabilities live as independent of a life as possible. Whether one encounters physical barriers, such as housing or transportation, or figurative barriers, such as trying to find work or changing perceptions, LEAP is instrumental in working to knock those barriers down.
When I sought to live a more independent life, and move out of the nursing home, it was LEAP who helped me make that desire a reality.
