“Every Set Back is a Set Up for a Comeback”
I would like to thank my mom for the above quote. I have a lot of thank you’s actually…my EasyStand finally arrived today. I can now begin standing every day to help with bone density, muscle strength and a whole slew of other things. Thank you to Eric and Mike (and their families) for making this a reality!
I just finished Walking Papers, a story about a man who suffered a diving acccident and was left paralyzed. It was an inspirational book to read. I would like to thank my fraternity brother, Bryan P., for sending it to me. I’d like to thank Pat, one of the massage therapists who has been helping me for the generous gifts she has also given me to help with relaxation/meditation. And of course, I have to continue to thank the “regulars” who continue to help me each week in various ways – dinner, technology, stretching, etc.
This weekend I am attending a healing session. I have never been to one of these. My vision of a healing session has always been what I have seen on TV – a big tent with a lot of folding chairs, a minister in a suit who smacks you in the head, a lot of screaming and praising, and sometmes very large snakes. I am pretty sure this won’t exactly be the scene on Saturday (if it is, I really don’t care, it will make for a good journal entry). The guy I am seeing has actually helped several other people I have met. He is widely known and also a medical doctor. So if he does decide to smack someone’s forehead and they get hurt, I guess he will be able to treat them with medical attention.
We are in the process of planning an event in Lakewood, Ohio on August 19th. The event will take place at Around the Corner, and will involve guest bartenders and raffles, etc. I will post more about it once details have been finalized.
Finally, we are aiming to have the website live in early August. I will keep you posted.
In closing, I’ve done a lot of reflection this past week. I’ve had a few meetings with the Plain Dealer re: my story that caused me to really think about things in a different way. Some positive, some negative, but mostly positive. I hope the story will be published in the near future so I can share with all of you.
Will report back after the healing session this weekend.
As always, thank you for your prayers and support!
Scott
